Police dispatch dies on the spot after a crash

The dispatch rider for Shatta Wale's convoy to Bolgatanga in the Upper East area has passed away, according to the Ghana Police Service.


The Police state that after their dispatch rider, Sergeant Frempah Bismark, collided with a Toyota vehicle with the license plate AS 5979-21, he passed away instantly.


The statement went on to say that the 38-year-old deceased was an outrider who rode from Bolgatanga to Tamale under the command of former president John Agyekum Kufuor.


According to the report, the late Sergeant Frempah collided with a Toyota driven by Baba Francis, 34, who was traveling from Tamale to Bolgatanga with five passengers inside when he reached a stretch of road near Gbimsi village, which is close to Savelugu.


When the police team led by ASP/Mr. W Fuseini arrived at the scene, they brought the body of the deceased outrider to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where Dr. Mohammed Wumpini, the attending physician, declared him dead.


Following that, the body was taken to the hospital's morgue to be preserved and examined.

The suspected driver has been taken into custody to assist, and the accident vehicle has been confiscated for inquiry.
