GHANAIANS CALL FOR THE RETIREMENT OF JORDAN AYEW FROM BLACK STARS

Many Ghanaian football fans are calling on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to retire Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew following Ghana’s exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The calls came after Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the Round of 32. Fans have criticized Ayew’s performance, saying he failed to make an impact in the tournament.

According to fans, Jordan Ayew did not record a single shot on target in Ghana’s four World Cup matches despite playing as the team’s main striker.

Many believe it is time for the Black Stars to move on and give younger strikers a chance.

Others are also of the view that the coach was influenced by the GFA and Black Stars Technical Bench.

The GFA has not commented on the calls, and Jordan Ayew has not announced any plans to retire from international football.
